Tracy Levine is a contemporary landscape painter based in the village of Arnside, Cumbria, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

With easy access to Cumbria's lakes, mountains and coastline as well the Yorkshire Dales and further afield to her much-loved favourite Scottish Western Isles, this location is the perfect base for a wide palette of inspiration. Tracy is constantly seeking out wild and remote unspoilt places to interpret on canvas.

Much of Tracy's smaller work is done en plein air. She is a prolific printmaker, producing monoprints as well as her larger mixed media paintings in her studio, which has views of the Kent Estuary.

Tracy uses a variety of media, so while working outdoors she travels with an extensive amount of materials, sometimes transporting them by bicycle and trailer. Her mixed media paintings may include acrylic, oils, pastels, graphite, inks and coloured pencils. Sometimes she collages gold or silver leaf into the work, or even sand, leaves or anything that happens to be on the ground where she is painting.

With a full-time programme of exhibitions and an extensive list of solo shows behind her, Tracy has won several awards and prizes in recent years. In 2016 she was elected to the prestigious Lake Artists Society, which has a restricted membership of 45.

As well as selling original work through exhibitions, Tracy offers reproduction prints, which can be ordered online via her website. She welcomes visitors to her studio by prior arrangement.

An exhibition of Tracy's work, Bright and Beautiful, runs at the Severn Studio, Brantwood, Cumbria from Saturday 17 June to Sunday 3 September 2017.

Tracy Levine's painting 'Daisy, Daisy' features on the cover of Issue 302 of Resurgence & Ecologist (May/June 2017).
